They contain opportunities to gain knowledge and practice key historical skills in preparation for GCSE. The activities are varied and include games; role play; source evaluation; clips; evaluative writng and much more. This bundle also contains a Cold War display - simply cut out the lettering; events and pictures and match them up!

This is a second resource (first one Atomic Bomb) that I have made for a year 9 SOLbut can also be used for GCSE. It would take 2x1 hour lessons to deliver. The first hour is about the situation in 1945 in Europe and an introduction to ideologies, The students are required to demonstrate their understanding of communism and capitalism through matching statements and images to the correct ideologies. The second hour is a differentiated empathy game where the students take on the roles of characters in the USA and USSR and discuss their situation with each other filling in a grid as they go. This is the TENTH and last lesson on the constitution in the A Level scheme of work US government and politics, and it focuses on comparative politics - comparing the US and UK constitutions, and introduces students to the different approaches to comparative politics. Students complete their research on making comparisons, and wite a section 1 style answe, they are then introduced to the three approaches to comparative approaches and the criterion for a Section 2 answer, with the opportunity to complete one.
